HackYourFuture - Helping New Talent Into The Tech World
HackYourFuture
HackYourFuture (HYF) is an inclusive learning community, where volunteer IT professionals train talented refugees and foreigners (students) to take on jobs as web developers, after completing the course.
In the Danish labor market, there is a growing demand for labor in the IT sector, and HYF therefore specifically offers courses in coding, as the course participants are in a challenging situation when it comes to entering the Danish labor market.
The course is called “Your Shortcut to an IT Job” (in Danish “Din Smutvej til IT-Job”) and implies, that refugees and other foreigners who find it difficult to enter the Danish labor market get free access to a 34-week long course in web development.
This offer supports this group of citizens in acquiring the right technical and social skills, required to find a job as a web developer in the future. The project’s vision is thus not only that the course participants complete the course, but that after completing the course they find jobs within the IT industry, to the benefit of both their individual social security and integration into Danish society.
